Die Stadt der Zukunft @MS_Stubnitz (2022-12-07)

Anachronism is a “concert series for music and non music” – seems like a perfect place for “Die Stadt der Zukunft”! So the Band followed the kind invitation to Schwankhalle in Bremen and one day later also to the MS Stubnitz in Hamburg, were Anachronism takes place annually.

A few words for a better understanding of what’s going on: We improvise electronic/experimental music on our self-built robotic instruments. The instruments to the left and right are driven by sequencers programmed in pure data that are controlled via a touch display. My Guitar, the ElektroCaster, has also a sequencer that is displayed and interacted by its led-fret-board and touch sensitive frets. These sequencers are connected to a network and share their time and pitch information with each other. This means for example that I (the guy in the middle) can visualize the chords Gregor (on the right) is playing on his Harp, on my fret board. I also can send him chords via the ElektroCasters sequencer. The root note is automatically calculated and sent to the Pythagotron, were Ali (on the left) can decide if he wants to sync to the harmony. There is also a common countdown-clock on our displays to let us know when to switch to the next part, changing the tempo and the role of who sends the chords.
